Through purposeful determination and our normal dose of luck we have managed to keep Alex from being at all interested in the television thus far. Children's programming has yet to sully the boob tube a single time... unless you count me watching Justice League when I can't sleep. While I'm sure this utopia is sure to end soon, it has been nice to not be inundated with the Barneys, Mickeys, and Doras of the world just yet.
In spite of this, Alex has picked up who Elmo is. Maybe from daycare, but more likely from Max who is a big fan. I know that she knows who he/it is because she has one Elmo book which she flips through daily and points and yells "Melmo!!" at every page...

Isn't it nice having a child that has no clue who these characters are (although trying to find toys, clothes etc. without characters is a pain!) Our one Elmo book that we got as a gift has been banished to the car because Elmo speaks in the 3rd person and it makes it really hard to read outloud.
I like seeing that she could care less about tv, Megan is the same way. BUt I have been told that won't last long.
I love that she is searching for Melmo in the book and is excited everytime she sees him, as if she has never read the book before. Cute!
Okay she is still the cutest little girl in the world - but is she flipping us off while pointing out Elmo?
I am totally smiling! Zoe calls him "Melmo" too. How funny! We tried to keep Zoe from watching the highly annoying programs..but school introduced her to Barney. She is an addict.
